Pulgas Live-Work

Mixed-Use Project

East Plao Alto, CA

Project Description:

This live-work development is on a 6.5 acre former light industrial site in East Palo Alto, near the Ravenswood Open Space Preserve and the Baylands Nature Preserve. The design preserves and enhances the current open space; a community open space area along the marsh landscape that would include a rain water garden to create wetland habitat and filter storm water runoff. New public access trails along the edges of the property improve the linkages of the surrounding neighborhood to the San Francisco Bay.

Supporting a cohesive live-work community is an important goal of this development; the 78 live-work units are clustered round a central green that also contains a community building and children’s playground. The units will be modular in construction, pre-fabricated off-site for greater efficiency and sustainability.
