Project Description:

In Stanford Square, Carrasco & Associates successfully integrated a moderately large office building into a generally small-scale retail and service environment.  Brick facing on the lower floors meshes into with the one and two-story brick building that line the blocks on either side of the project, while light from further hewed to the established pattern of downtown Palo Alto by bringing the structure to the sidewalk, breaking the mass with a series of setbacks, and keeping the height to four stories.  At night, a line of neon along the roof edge adds an air of festivity.
