Project
Description:
The
social and recreational club is located in San José on
the bank of the Guadalupe River, bordering the Alviso
Slough. The new 65,000 square foot building will provide
a place for community members of all age groups to gather,
socialize, enjoy cultural programs, and hold special
festivities such as anniversary, birthday, and wedding
celebrations. The family-friendly environment of the
club offers amenities such as a generous landscaped
courtyard with a river view, a childcare center with
an outdoor play area, a sunny café, a formal restaurant,
a banquet hall, and an outdoor dining area overlooking
the site. Sports facilities include a swimming pool,
locker rooms, adult and youth gyms, and racquet courts.
There are also meeting and multi-media rooms.
The
building opens up to the sweeping views of the natural
surroundings, with the swimming pool and courtyard oriented
to the river. The Silicon Valley Club’s enhanced landscape
will provide important linkages to the existing open
space network in the community. The adjacent Bay Trail
will integrate with the neighboring Guadalupe Trail
and also connect to the San Tomas Aquino Creek Trail.
The project will provide public access to the walkways
that look out on the Alviso Slough and Guadalupe River.
